Saturday, March 10th Brooklyn Art Spaces Open Until 10 PM
Brooklyn Armory Night, March 10, 2012, will bring an exciting host of art exhibits, events and performances across northern Brooklyn. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the annual Williamsburg Afterhours event joined by the burgeoning Bushwick scene including the 4th year of Bushwick Beat Nite, Extended Hours at 56 Bogart Street and many others. Bushwick, Greenpoint and Williamsburg galleries will be open until 10pm, in celebration of Armory Arts Week’s Brooklyn night.
In addition to gallery exhibitions and events, Williamsburg will light up the night with video works at various locations throughout the neighborhood. Street level video projections will illuminate the night, with site-specific works, video installations and projection art. Along the route of participating galleries for this year’s WIlliamsburg Afterhours event, local bars and restaurants will be transformed with artist’s video presentations immersing the neighborhood in a festival of the arts. The evening will continue at indieScreen for the afterparty event with a special screening of a program of video artist’s works in their theatre. Guests can meet up at indieScreen’s fabulous lounge for cocktails and a presentation of videos that were presented at various locations throughout the evening.
Bushwick’s streets come alive with the arts, with galleries and alternative arts spaces open from 6-10pm. This is the seventh installment of Norte Maar’s bi-annual Bushwick Beat Nite, half art stroll, half bar crawl, art spaces welcome the public to see real art in real time. All of the galleries of 56 Bogart Street, and numerous neighboring spaces including the newly opened Luhring Augustine Bushwick, join this years Armory Arts Week, Brooklyn Night celebration. Specially planned performances, exhibitions and events abound throughout Bushwick for this exciting evening of the arts. Beat Nite’s official afterparty will be hosted by English Kills.
